Beaware of Germs in Hotels


Before staying at the hotel, you might want to bring memertimbangkan hand-sanitizer. A new study shows that many places in the hotel where germs live.

A study on the contamination level of the hotel by the University of Houston found that the goods in a hotel room to watch the tourists because they contain lots of germs. These items, the television remote control and room light switch. Meanwhile, other equipment, is a sink and a toilet seat.

The highest contamination levels were also found on items used hotel staff to clean every room in the hotel, like a sponge, broom and mop. If contaminated, then these tools can spread germs in hotel antarkamar and make hotel is getting dirty.

The researchers got this result by taking a sample of 18 items in each hotel room, and examine the total level of bacteria in each item. The study was conducted by taking samples at nine hotel rooms, each with three rooms in Texas, Indiana, and South Carolina.

The study also found that clean items in hotel rooms, like the top of the bed, curtain rails and bathroom door handles. The presence of bacteria-contaminated items in a hotel room is not really dangerous, but can be risky for health occupant whose immune systems are weak.

"By identifying which items are most at high risk of contamination, it certainly can give information to hotel managers and staff to clean up the extra stuff before," said Katie Kirsch, University of Houston researcher, as quoted by the SMH, Wednesday (20 / 6/2012).
